providers, such as Safaricom, Airtel, or Telekom. Once you get your line, ensure that it is
registered in line with the laws of Kenya. You can check the registration status by dialing *106#
for Safaricom and Airtel or *232# for Telekom.


II. SIM Swap and Locking Your Mobile Line:
To prevent unauthorized SIM swaps, which can lead to identity theft, it is recommended to lock
your phone line. For Safaricom and Airtel users, dial 100100# to whitelist your line and stop
SIM swaps. Telekom users need to visit a Telekom shop personally with their ID/Aliens card as
this option is not available via USSD code.


III. SIM PIN Lock:
Protect your SIM card from unauthorized access by setting a PIN lock. Follow the following steps
to set up sim lock
Android phones, go to Settings >> Security/Privacy >> Other Security Settings >> Set Up
SIM Card Lock. Select the provider and follow the prompts.

iPhones, go to Mobile Data >> SIM Pin and follow the prompts. Remember to change
the default PIN to a memorable one.


IV. Phone Screen Lock:
Phone locks are a vital and makes your Phone truly yours, they safeguard it from unauthorized

To Enable a screen lock, please follow the following steps
Android phones, go to Settings >> Security/Privacy >> Lock Screen and choose a screen
pattern or password.
iPhones, go to Settings >> Face ID/Passcode and follow the prompts.
